March 11, 2012 marks the one year anniversary of the northeastern Japan's 9.0 earthquake, the huge tsunamis, and the on-going nuclear plant meltdown disaster of the Fukushima power plant...
I just had to take a moment tonight to send all my heart and deepest sympathy to my home country, Japan.
At the same time, I'd like to thank all of you who continue to care deeply about Japan and for the Japanese people whose lives were turned upside down one year ago and are still struggling to put their lives back together. Thank you very much for your continued support and love.
I am planning to reopen my etsy shop soon to begin another fundraising for Japan Relief. As you may recall, in 2011, I was able to make some monetary donations for Japan Relief through my handmade creations with the support from my friends and customers of my shop. Detail post here.
I'm not sure how much I can actually donate from my online shop sales this time, and I know that such small donation may not help rebuild the diaster stricken area and the people, but I still want to try my best and see what I can do for my part...
So... here's a peek of my handmade items that I created recently, which I plan to list in my shop for the fundraiser soon.

Matryoshka granny bag with round handles.
Patchwork log cabin and linen tote bag.
I'm hoping to create more items... and I will try my best :D
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today and thank you so much for thinking about Japan with me.
With lots of love to you and your loved ones,
Amy

I can't believe it's already been a year. I think it's beautiful what you are doing! =)
My online and local friends made a quilt to raise funds for ongoing relief. It is here with links for blog posts about the wonderful work these ladies did and the fun project. http://www.etsy.com/listing/94427874/hand-embroidered-quilt-veggie-market-for
You do beautiful work. It is wonderful of you to use your talents and time for someone else.
Thank you, Nadia, and thank you , Mom Wald, for your encouraging comments.
After consideration, I decided to donate my entire shop proceeds to "Ashinaga" organization of Japan, that supports the Japanese children who lose their parent(s) during last year's earthquake and tsunami.
Love, Amy xoxo
