100th post and giveaway time!

Yay! This is my 100th post on this blog! Woo hoo!  I've been thinking about having a giveaway  on my 100th post for a long time, and right now, Sew Mama Sew! is hosting a May Giveaway Day blog event !  What a perfect timing!

I will therefore participate in the Sew! Mama! Sew! giveaway event for the first time ever...  How exciting!!

And my giveaway item is... this reversible linen tote bag that is handmade by me :)

More images here.  The handles are made of sturdy canvas webbing.

And the reversible side looks like this.

I used this discontinued reproduction fabric to make this tote... which is one of my favorites.  These are the images of birds and flowers by the window.  Aren't they lovely?

It's a perfect size to store a letter pad (8 1/2 inches x 11 inches) or your daily belongings to carry everyday.

Side view

If you are interested in participating, simply leave a comment on this post.   I'd appreciate it if you could tell me know a little about yourself on the comment, so that we can get to know each other : )

I will ship internationally, and this giveaway will be open until May 20, 2010 midnight (U.S. Pacific Time).

One lucky winner will get this tote, and even if you're not the luckiest one, I will also giveaway this handmade matryoshka lavender sachet to 2 more individuals!!  (That's a total of 3 winners!)

Good luck and I'll be waiting for your comments!

Hi, I love the tote and everything that you do. I have just started sewing again after a long, long break. It has helped me to get over some stuff going on here at the moment. Keeping my hands busy, keeps my mind off the bad stuff happening for a short while. It is a welcome break. Checking in on your blog does the same.

Congratulation on your 100th post! And your tote is lovely too! I enjoy sewing clothes, bag making, patchworking & knitting/crochet..but there never seems to be enough time in the day does there. Oh well the housework can keep for another day!

HiAmy,
Congratulations on your 100th post!
Your prizes are very cute. The tote could be my knitting or crocheting bag to keep my project in. And I am a pretty big fun of Matryoshka dolls. I have a little collection of them.

chaospueppchen said...

I wished I could sew or had at least the patience to learn it. I really have to left hands and am kind of a perfectionist. I tried once to sew a bag, but.. yeah... I need a lot of practice... if ever a lonely homeless sewing machine knocks at my door...

And I really love those bags. If I could sew, I would have one in every colour. I use them for my stuff for university and they wear out really fast ...

However, actually I would prefer the sachets, since, as I commented before, I love the Matryoshka stamp so much :) I really admire your work and skills

Greetings from Sweden

I've recently been in an accident where I can't use my left hand at all, so no sewing for at least five more weeks :( I have one budgie, Agamemnon (nicknamed Aggie) and he gets very excited when the "Neighbours" theme song starts playing.

Thank you for holding this giveaway :) Your tote and sachet looks lovely.

Hi Amy!

I'm from Southern California and I started sewing when I was pregnant with my daughter. It's been about 2 years now and I'm diving headfirst into various projects to see what I enjoy most. I'm currently working on a quilt for my daughter's second birthday.

The bag is adorable and the lavender sachets are even cuter!

I known how to sew since I was five years old, my mom taught me so I could make my dolls some clothing. I sew for few years and then the teenage years came, and you don't want to be on your sewing machine while your friends are out "having fun", besides at that age everybody thinks that sewing is for old ladies. So I stop. Now I have a 2 yrs old daughter and she's my inspiration.
Thank you for the chance of this give a way.

Wow, what a gorgeous tote! It's quite summery but would look great all year round. I'm from Scotland and trying desperately to find the time to get back into blogging and making following a whirlwind year of bad health, getting married, renovating a house and generally trying to carve out a little me time in all the chaos life throws our way!

hello! this is a wonderful bag! and i'm a big fan of matrioshkas so i would love the lavender sachet as well.
i'm from Portugal, i've found my love for sewing and quilting some months ago and asked for a sewing machine for my birthday. unfortunately i have limited time to dedicated myself to making as much as i would like and i'm always making things for friends and never end up having the time to make something for me.
my last piece was a baby quilt for my friend's baby who was celebratin his first birthday. this was in march... can you believe this? since then i haven't even gone inside my sewing room for more than 5 minutes :(

it's absolutely beautiful!
I just started making my own re-usable bags, completely hooked, and yours is to die for! I love the birds and flowers by the window... so peaceful and serene :)
and even the sachet is adorable! I have yet to make any but I really really want to. I've planted some lavender and I'm waiting for that to grow nice and tall and strong so I can make a lot of them!
I live in Panama City Beach, FL where we're said to have the "worlds most beautiful beaches." So far no oil has reached us but I have a sad feeling it won't be long until it does. Breaks my heart!
thanks for hosting this giveaway :) you really have a lovely blog!
