I had this idea of making a bird shaped coin purse for a while, with her eyes made out of buttons and her yellow beak sticking out from the side of the wallet. This idea was stuck in my head for a long time, and here she is, finally came to life - a birdie coin purse!
For the lining, I used the same floral flannel fabric as her wings...
The purse is a perfect size to carry around my driver's license, credit cards, coins, and more.
Here is the closeup of her eye... a black button.
I don't know why... but when I craft, I like to make things out of "bird" motifs so much. Besides this birdie coin purse, I've also made several other birdie things in the past, such as...
this bird shaped lavender sachet...
and the bird embroidered pillow...
and look at all these different bird stamps that I carved out from the erasers...!!
Am I making all these birdie stuffs consciously or unconsicously? I really don't know myself...
But, after all, my blog name is "chick chick" sewing, so I guess I'll just continue making more birdie stuff, consciously or unconsciously!
The coin purse is so cute ! You are very creative !
OMG, soooo cute. What a nice idea. You could even make a purse shaped like a nest for her to rest in!
Thanks, PY and La Tempête, for your nice comments :)
